Recently, Lionel Messi surpassed a series of other strong candidates such as Robert Lewandowski, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante… to become the owner of the 2021 Golden Ball. This is the 7th time in his super career. Argentine star won this prestigious award.

Messi took a set of photos to commemorate this special event with his family.  

A statement from France Football stated that Messi had the best score of 613 points, which was 580 points higher than Lewandowski, who came in second. Copa America 2021 is a major factor in El Pulga’s dominance of the 2021 Golden Ball race.

Even though there are still many controversies, it cannot be denied that the former Barca star completely deserves this award.

However, Messi has not yet opened fire to celebrate this special event. In the last 2 matches, PSG were held to a draw. 

The Argentine superstar did not have any goals or assists.
