Not many people can say Prince asked them out on a date in a memorable way but Halle Berry can.

The Oscar-winning actress recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where the host asked her if there was any truth to rumors that Michael Jackson once asked Babyface to ask Berry if she’d go out with him. “I don’t know, but I know Prince asked me out on a date,” she responded.

Berry said the legendary singer, who dies in 2016, actually asked her to go on a date using a piece of paper while she was at one of his Los Angeles concerts.

“I was at one of his concerts here on Sunset at the Key Club, and he had somebody come out with a piece of paper. And you know like kids do, you say, ‘Do you like me? Yes or no.’ I went, yes!” she recalled. “I mean, I’m at his concert, right? Yes!”

After returning the piece of paper to Prince, the Never Let Go actress said someone brought it back to her with another question written on it: “Would you go out with me?”

However, Berry didn’t respond this time. “No, I didn’t send the paper back,” she said. “I kept the paper.”

Jimmy Kimmel quickly asked, “Can I have it?” as they both broke out in laughter.

“So wait, between guitar solos, he’s scribbling down notes?” the host added. “He’s like, ‘Bring this to Halle, let’s see.’”

The X-Men star appeared to also ponder how the “Purple Rain” artist pulled it off, however, she said, “Somehow, I got it.”
