Savannah Chrisley is speaking out about her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s pardon.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, May 27, Savannah said President Donald Trump “just called me as I was walking into Sam’s Club” to tell her he’s pardoned her parents, who reported to prison in January 2023 after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud the year prior.

“Both my parents are coming home,” Savannah said. “I could not be more grateful.”

In a separate post, Savannah, 27, said her family was “freaking out over here” in reaction to the news.

“I have shed so many tears,” she said. “The President called me personally as I was walking into Sam’s Club and notified me that he was signing pardon paperwork for both of my parents. So, both my parents are coming home tonight or tomorrow. I still don’t believe it’s real. I’m freaking out.”

Savannah added that they are “getting some clothes together” for her mom and dad and “getting their room put together upstairs.”

“I’m just speechless,” she said. “I just can’t thank you guys enough for sticking with my family and loving us and supporting us… It still doesn’t feel real. It doesn’t. I’m freaking out, so I’m going to go and prepare to pick up my parents. My parents get to start their lives over!”

Savannah ended her video saying, “It’s time to go get mom and dad.”

In the phone call to Savannah, Trump, 78, said Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were “given a pretty harsh treatment, based on what I’m hearing.”

“It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” he said. “I hope we can do it by tomorrow… I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good luck.”

Todd and Julie were initially indicted in August 2019 before being sentenced in November 2022 to a combined 19 years in prison. They had been appealing their case ever since.

Initially, Julie’s appeal was granted due to insufficient evidence, while Todd’s was upheld. However, a separate judge later ruled that her original punishment was sufficient. (Their original sentences were reduced in September 2023.)

Amid their imprisonment, Savannah became the sole caretaker of the pair’s youngest children, Grayson, 19, and Chloe, 12, when she was 25.

“I wasn’t expecting to get two kids,” Savannah told PEOPLE in February. “So, between that, legal expenses to fight for my parents, I am just like anyone else out here. Sure, I put a smile on my face. I look the part, I play the part. But it doesn’t mean I actually am the part. You fake it till you make it. That’s the world that we live in…I’ve struggled.”

Next, the Chrisley family is gearing up to star in an all-new docuseries for Lifetime. PEOPLE confirmed that the series, which succeeds USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley, will see the brood “exposing the raw truth of their lives — past and present — and the reality is far different from what audiences have seen before.” It doesn’t currently have a release date and was originally not set to feature the famed patriarchs.
