During this time, the Beckhams ‘ efforts began to bear fruit: David was knighted on King Charles’s birthday – a title he had longed for decades, and Victoria had a documentary about her own fashion empire scheduled to air later this year.

The only sticking point is the tension between the eldest son, Nicola Peltz , and Brooklyn Beckham . Page Six even described the current uproar as a confrontation between the UK’s most famous couple and one of America’s richest families.

More notably, sources from the Beckham and Peltz families provided conflicting information.

According to Page Six , the reason Brooklyn no longer speaks to his biological relatives is because he has become increasingly close to his wife’s parents, billionaire Nelson Peltz and Claudia. Meanwhile, the source of all family discord comes from the “Brand Beckham”.

Amid reports that Brooklyn is being controlled by his wife, a source close to the Peltz family said: “Nicola’s only crime was marrying Brooklyn. She is guilty of loving him, nothing else. Nicola told Victoria and David that the only thing she wants is love and support.”

In response, a person who knows the Beckhams well retorted: “Anyone who knows the Beckhams knows they are loving, devoted and wonderful parents.”

Insiders claim the warning signs of trouble were there even before Brooklyn married Nicola in 2022.

In July 2020, Brooklyn and Nicola got engaged at the bride’s $100 million estate in Palm Beach (Florida, USA) after 8 months of dating.

Peltz’s side accused Victoria of making a series of demands including not posting photos, Nicola having to wear her dress and having to announce the engagement in London (UK).

A source from Beckham denied this information, saying that Victoria and David only invited their eldest son and his wife to lunch to celebrate their engagement.

Peltz’s source added that before the wedding took place in April 2022, Victoria called Brooklyn and asked her son to sign a big contract related to the Beckham brand. The chef, born in 1999, refused.

Industry insiders explain that it is a deal with Authentic Brands Group for David to sell a majority stake in his brand management company, DB Ventures, for $269 million.

“The agreement Brooklyn was asked to sign was to protect his rights. His parents have business partners who hold some rights to the Beckham name. They wanted to make sure the kids weren’t affected by that. It was standard procedure, to protect the family. It didn’t matter if Brooklyn didn’t sign the agreement because no one could restrict his rights. Sadly, at that point, Brooklyn removed all of his advisers and relied on the Peltz family’s lawyers, who either didn’t understand the agreement or were deliberately obstructing it,” the source said.

This was followed by disagreements related to the million-dollar wedding, such as Nicola Peltz’s wedding dress or singer Marc Anthony calling Victoria “the most beautiful woman in the room” causing her daughter-in-law to run out of the banquet hall crying.

Regarding the controversy over the eldest son not attending David Beckham’s 50th birthday party, TMZ ‘s source confirmed that Nicola did not like the “toxic” treatment of Brooklyn by his parents-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Becks were said to not cooperate every time Brooklyn and Nicola wanted to talk to resolve the conflict.

People close to Beckham deny that the famous family has done anything but support the 9X couple. They did not hesitate to pose cheesily to help their son launch his Cloud23 hot sauce brand in October 2024. David also invested money in his son, like Nicola’s brothers.

The Becks also paid for and hosted a screening of Nicola’s directorial debut, Lola , in London. Except for David, who was busy with work, the entire family attended the film’s premiere in Los Angeles in February 2024.

In response, Brooklyn and Nicola were constantly absent from family events. They even lied to make up excuses for their absence.

According to Page Six , the couple said they could not attend the birthday dinner at Core restaurant in London on May 3 because they needed to fly back to New York to fit in for the Met Gala event a few days later. However, multiple sources confirmed that they were not invited.

“The constant and deliberate misrepresentation of the Beckham family is becoming very boring. None of it has any real evidence. The Beckham family is not interested in this nonsense. They only care about their son,” Beckham’s side emphasized.

Peltz’s source concluded with the message that all of Brooklyn and Nicola’s decisions regarding their relationship with the Beckham family were based on personal will, without any outside influence.

With the current situation, whether Brooklyn will be able to witness his father being knighted or not is still up in the air.
