The Daily Mail quoted a French news agency that rapper Werenoi (real name Jeremy Bana Owana), was hospitalized after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest.

Admitted to the intensive care unit at Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital in Paris, France, doctors announced that he had passed away on the morning of May 17.

Rapper Werenoi passed away suddenly

The rapper was scheduled to perform at the Azar Club in Lyon, France, on May 17. Before the sudden sad news, Werenoi’s family and management company have not yet released an obituary.

However, many friends, colleagues, and associates have expressed their grief over Werenoi’s passing.

“Rest in peace brother, I love you so much!” – Babs – Werenoi’s friend and partner mourned.

The Azar Club also expressed its condolences: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Werenoi, a unique artist, whom we celebrate tonight. We will always remember the talent and strength of an artist who left his mark on his time.”

Hip-hop duo Djadja & Dinaz said: “The release of the new music video has been postponed. Our thoughts are with Werenoi’s loved ones at this time.”

Rapper Werenoi is a well-known figure in the French rap scene and was the headliner at the 40th Francofolies de La Rochelle Music Festival in 2024. He has released four albums, including “Diamant Noir”, which debuted at number one on the French charts.

He won the “Album of the Year” award at the 2024 Flammes Awards and several other awards.
